Abstract

Six strains of inbred mice, A/J, AKR/J, C3HeB/FeJ, DBA/2J, DBA/1J, and SJL/J, were used to determine the effects of two diets and a mixture of the two on growth rates. Weight was measured over a six week period.

Each strain responded to the diets differently, but in general, the mice on the diet with the highest fat content gained the most weight.
