Abstract

Since Berger ' s work with brain waves in 1929 much has been done in the field of human encephalography. While no attempt will be made here to review the literature it should be noted that very little work has been attempted with animals, in spite of the possible fruitfulness of research along this line. The present study, suggested and guided by Dr. John Fuller , was of an exploratory nature . Since mice are so widely used in research and since the only attempt to explore the encephalography of the laboratory mouse was a pilot experiment (unpublished) by Amelia Vicari et al . at The Jackson Lab., Bar IIarbor , Maine. an attempt was made to establish the technique of mouse encephalography, and , if possible, to obtain typical records . Since DBA mice were amoung those used , it was hoped that abnormal pictures might also be picked up in audiogenic susceptables of this strain.
