Elizabeth “Tibby” Russell (1913-2001) worked at JAX from 1937 until her retirement in 1978. She did pioneering work on pigmentation, blood-forming cells, and germ cells. She also lead the successful effort to rebuild the mouse colonies destroyed in the 1947 fire.
